New Poll and some OtC updating

Where do you get the majority of your art news?
That is the new poll question in our right hand column. With the ever evolving changes concerning Internet, press and advertising, I was interested in seeing if there was a significant lead in the current options available. Do people still prefer traditional, physical forms of communication such as newspapers or the immediacy of the Internet. I guess, some answers come not from preference but from reality. I personally love receiving postcards and mailings from galleries, I enjoy leafing through an art magazine (and still read several), but I still receive a majority of my art news via blogs. Feel free to post your thoughts in the comments section.

Also of Note:

Over the course of the next couple weeks, you may begin to notice a few cosmetic changes here at On the Cusp. Nothing drastic, just getting around to some things that have been in the plans for awhile now. If any of you happen to have noticed any links in our right hand column that are currently not working or need to be updated, please drop us a line. If you have any other suggestion on how we could make OtC more user friendly or if you want to suggested how we could improve the content, let us know now. Hope you enjoy the changes. Thank you.

Hmm... Where's the vote for all of the above on your poll, Scott?

Maybe I'm just a junkie....

Postcards, while not exactly affordable or green always get me excited. I love the Craig McCormick card that showed up in my mailbox yesterday. What a treat to see after lunch.

Rich,

Art news junkie? You and I both. I considered the "all of the above", but that makes for too easy of answer. I want people to really think about it and commit to their answer.

N.,

I too love getting a great postcard or assorted advert for an exhibition in the mail. Particularly when they are well made and considered. I actually think that postcards are quite affordable, personally, but this green concern is something I have been thinking a lot about over the past year or so. I know in the past, I have often had postcards printed from an online digital print house and get a good deal for 5000 postcards. Problem being, when all was said and done, I would have 3000-4000 left over and hated the idea of throwing them away. I obviously do not order as many these days as I have begun to figure out a rough estimate that I could actually put out. But, I have been thinking about using a more green printer. A company that at least prints in a green manner, friendly inks and recycled paper. If I find out more on these options I will post about it.
