Oh Damien

If you missed it last night, Charlie Rose's interview with Damien Hirst will be rebroadcast locally today at 1:00 on PBS. Charlie, as usual, asks some pretty good questions and Damien is quite frank. No ground-breaking sound bites here, but worth a look.

I saw the interview and thought it was pretty good. In very few words, Hirst offered insight into the workings of the current art world. Learning that he has 160 employees to help him fabricate his work was truly an eye opener. So much for a couple of studio assistants. He was very humble when talking about his work and when asked about the prices his work commands, he said, "It's worth what someone is willing to pay". The interview is well worth the time.
