New Links, Blogs and Videos

Well, I have finally gotten around to doing some major overhaul of the links in the sidebar. Many are left from previous lists but we have also included a number of new blogs, some new links to Indy related art sites and a new selection of art video sites.

Some new links of certain note:

IMA Blog- The IMA has recently started blogging. I expect we will see some interesting content coming out from them soon and be sure to add them to your blog aggregator so you can keep with all the new things going on at the IMA.

MW Capacity- A great blog with some good writing that focuses on painters in and around the Midwest. Some local, Indy artists, have been discussed on their site, Casey Roberts and Chad Gallion. Be sure to check out the dialogs they have been having in their comment sections. Some heavy and truely insightful discussions. I have yet to participate in any of them yet but one day...

James Kalm- James youtube videos of his visits to several NYC art exhibitions and the like are a great way to get the abbreviated view of a NYC art opening. While watching you can play, "Spot the Famous People". Maybe not the best way to see art, but if you are like me and can not make it out to NY for openings, then this gives you a taste of what to expect.

Peeler Art Center- I have finally posted the Peelers web site in the list, as I know I have mentioned them often. Everyone in Indy should keep their eyes on their exhibition schedule as Katie Johnson has a wonderful eye and talent and the ability to bring some damn fine art to small town Indy. Almost a shame that so few people take notice of what she is doing, here in Indianapolis. Afterall it is only a 45+ minute drive from here. Just to give you a taste of what she has coming in the next couple months check out these two shows:

Zoe Strauss
March 12 – April 13, 2008
A photographer of the social landscape, Zoe Strauss’s searing humanist portraits, photo-based installations and large-scale public projects pay particular attention to the overlooked – or purposefully avoided – details of life.

Life After Death
New Leipzig Paintings from the Rubell Family Collection
March19 – May 18, 2008
An exhibition that presents the foremost U.S. collection of paintings from the New Leipzig School, a group of painters who are breathing new life into the East German tradition of social realist figure painting.

Hey Chris,

No Problem. Keep up the great work over there. I do tend to love German Art, so I will certainly be there.

To above Anonymous,

I deleted your comment here, not because of your comments just I noticed your other post stating that you posted the above comment in the wrong section. Just wanted to clarify that I wasn't playing post police.
