TONIGHT:
IMOCA 101: Bauhaus at our House
Come on over to our "house" for a discussion of Bauhaus - and much more. We look at limiting factors of architecture and the "form follows function" position of Louis Sullivan versus the "less is more" approach of Mies van der Rohe and the Bauhaus. Frank Lloyd Wright's role in the formation of the artist/architect is explored, as well as postmodernism in the work of Venturi, Graves and others. This session places a special emphasis on the design of museums. Not that we'd be obsessed with that, or anything.
iMOCA 101 has been developed by iMOCA to educate the public on contemporary art trends of today. From novice to expert, all are welcome to learn about what contemporary art means. While there be sure to check out their latest exhibition of works by artist, Jeff Gabel.
