Theo Jansen at IUPUI

I had never heard of Theo Jansen until this morning. But after seeing the BMW commercial on (and then lots of other videos), I made plans to go see one of his "Strandbeest" walking around at the IUPUI campus. What a thrill to see this thing 'eat wind,' and move.

It was a veritable media blitz around his kinetic sculpture, cameras, cell phones, video cameras, and apperantly Fox 59 (supposedly airing a piece on the 10:00pm news).

I'm only going to upload one photo here, but I've created a Flickr group for onthecusp. If you have photos, why don't you upload them there? (You'll have to join Flickr, and then join the Flickr group. Note, if you are creating a new account it may take a while for your photos to show up. See Flickr FAQ.)

I wonder if anyone will make a video out of the visit.

He's giving a lecture tonight at 7pm at Herron, which I won't be able to attend. Anyone care to give a recap of his lecture?
