A few things (in no particular order)
Do you like this story?
1. Bridge Art Fair, April 26-30
You can check out The Bridge Art Fair in Chicago (free admission for preview party on the 26th) and visit a few Indianapolis-based artist's work while you're there.
Recent Projects has a booth.
Brose Partington will be represented by Dam, Stuhltrager Gallery.
Judith Levy will be represented by NavtaShulz Gallery of Chicago, where she has a show "Girls Brigade" that will be up April 13 - May 26, 2007.
"Herron's Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Visual Art and Public Life, set to launch in August 2008, offers a unique opportunity for sculptors, printmakers and furniture designers seeking careers in the visual arts. The degree program focuses on advancing the students' artistic vision and technical ability to the highest professional standards while developing career opportunities. Students are encouraged to work on projects that require professional practice and community collaborations while being mentored by faculty."
3. The Indianapolis Cultural Trail Breaks Ground, April 25th, 11 AM
But, who are the artists that will be commissioned for the trail? Or will there be an announcement on the day of the groundbreaking? Here's the call for artists that was put out for the trail.
4. iMOCA is bringing the film B.I.K.E. to Indy as part of the Indianapolis International Film Festival.
5. And though I've been rebuffed in the past for bringing up literary items, I will point out that the WCI is publishing The Flying Island again. There will be a reading at the Indianapolis Art Center on April 25th.
