What to do, what to do...

All pretty quiet on the blog-front these days, but our tireless efforts have found a few interesting tidbits...

  • Architecture/design (or lack there of) has been a popular topic here at OtC recently. Seems it's also been a popular topic in LA. Monday's New York Times questions the traditional notion that Angelenos don’t care that much about architecture. The article notes a changing tide, saying "... it’s becoming harder to make that argument these days, as developers, arts benefactors and academic institutions in Los Angeles begin to embrace the notion that cutting-edge design — however costly — can sow both economic and social dividends by spurring development and enlightening the public." Hmmmm... where I have I heard that before?
  • In the interest of fairness, the Indianapolis Business Journal supports the decision the hotel committee made in selecting the Marriott over the InterContinental. I now invite you to reread the italicized portion of the point directly above this one. Repeat as many times as necessary.
  • Edward Winkleman has his Top 10 Top 10 lists. My favorite: No 8 - Top 10 Crazy person of 2006: "Evan Bayh. It took him an entire week of presidential campaigning in New Hampshire to figure out what the rest of the nation already knew: Who the fuck is Evan Bayh?" Hoosiers represent!!!
  • In the spirit of giving this holiday season, I invite all of you to write a $1000 check so Benny Hinn can get a new private jet (they take credit cards too!).
  • Roller derby madness will consume Indy in the coming weeks. Our very own Naptown Roller Girls battle the Nashville Roller Girls on January 13th.
