Galleries are often seen merely as venues in which to showcare artists' works. In reality, they participate in a complex, often international network consisting of artists, dealers, curators and museums. The succesful gallery must not only secure a local client base to sell from their in-house exhibitions, but insure their artists are seen by galleries and curators in their region and beyond. In this global economic atmosphere, the gallerist must not only be an expert on the art they show, but remarkable salespeople and savvy marketers. In this session, we will discuss this vital link between collector and artist.
