Tonight at 9 pm on PBS

From the PBS Website:

Imagining America: Icons of 20th Century American Art

This thematic documentary provides a fresh new look at some of the great artists and art works that helped define the identity and spirit of American culture. The program highlights the work of Georgia O'Keeffe, Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol and over 15 other artists in the context of exploring how Americans developed a new relationship to nature, identity and media in the 20th century. The show mixes new interviews with leading scholars and contemporary artists with archival footage of key artists and popular music from throughout the century that helps inspire and illuminate the contemplation of visual art.

Something else good to check out is magazine The Believer. The Visual Issue has a great interview with Corey Archangel focusing on how technology is changing the role of ownership and art. It also introduces Wholphin, a dvd with a wonderful series of short films.
