Dear Redvelvetto

I am one of the stuffy fucking men you referred to in response to the previous post. I thought I would try to clear some things up for you and for the rest of the people that have been kind enough to read and contribute responses to this blog.

First of all, this blog is a work in progress. I believe there are still just about 10 posts and I can say we are initially very excited about the response. It started with a couple of guys, out for a beer or two, realizing that we read the same more internationally-focused contemporary art blogs every day. Our goal from the beginning has been to start a dialogue about how to move Indianapolis beyond a thrid, fourth or even fifth tier art city.

That being said, I don't think there is a need for an apology. A blog by it's nature need not be politcally correct. But we have in fact approached a few females that will hopefully be contributing soon. My hope is that you and everyone else who read this blog will continue to add to the discussion on how to make the contemporary arts better in Indianapolis.

remarkably, through my haze of male stuffyness I see this blog space at some point requiring a full fledged forum attached.

The 'Dear John' letter was not meant as an apology, just a statement of fact. No, you did not hit a weak spot with me.

I first and foremost want this to be a place where we can be critical of our local scene and I hope I have started to address that in earlier posts. I invite you to be critical and damning, and if you so desire, send me an email at ruschafan@yahoo.com and I will gladly post it.

I'm not sure if I have yet enough faith in the Indy art scene to die for it, I am, however, to the point where I'm willing to get my ass kicked. Blood and tears included.

I apologise for my current and last posts being anonymous, but I'm absolutely terrified of an internet stranger with unfounded man issues knowing my electronic username.

or maybe it's just that setting up an account seems like a pointless effort.

Yes! I'll also go anonymous since we have a "my way or the highway" poster ready to duke it out! Gee....you CAN disagree and be pleasant about it, redvelvetto, at least I can. I'd say you are the overly sensitive one.
I made the first post about not wanting to feel like I had to stick sex in my art to make it noteworthy. I am a woman.

I must say that i have been enjoying the comments section over the past few days. I think it is wonderful that people care enough about their beliefs to put them out there for all to see. And I think that at times, we can all get abrassive. I have often said things without thinking through it (though i am trying to improve myself on that issue). But it is through this type of open dialogue that I think we learn most about ourselves and our own beliefs. So I want to thank redvelvetto and all the anonymous posters who have been willing to put their view points out there. I welcome you all to our blog.
