St. Louis
Do you like this story?
We recently received an email at iMOCA from the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis. I thought some of you might be interested in the following.
On behalf of the Curators here, I wanted to call your attention to the museum’s Flat Files program. The Flat Files, which traditionally have been used to showcase works from St. Louis artists, have recently expanded to include artists from other Midwestern cities. A more detailed description of the program can be found here: http://www.contemporarystl.org/flatfilessubmissions.php .
I’m writing because the curatorial team at the Contemporary hopes you might consider informing artists with whom you have worked about this opportunity. We admire the commitment of your program to providing a center for emerging artists and your approach to curatorial practices of alternative spaces, and as such, we would certainly benefit from your insight and knowledge of your local artists’ community. Ultimately, we hope to be able to offer a real platform for the dynamic, engaging contemporary works on paper being produced by Midwestern artists. Please keep in mind that the current submission deadline is September 1st, 2008.
