A Very Important Addition to the virtual landscape of Indianapolis
Do you like this story?
Regular readers know I often sound off on architecture and design issues here on OtC. I would like to take this opportunity to point everyone towards Circle and Squares, the new Indy-centric blog which is "...dedicated to discussion about architecture, landscape architecture, public art, urban planning, historic preservation, design...really, the built environment, in general. The intent is to provide news and ideas...and constructive criticism, when required."
It appears Jason has been at it for less then a week and already bringing up important topics such as the redevelopment of the former MSA site and the controversial National Guard tribute that some were trying to sneak in to our lovely downtown green space. Enjoy!

I was glad to be aware of the National Guard's effort to build yet another memorial downtown in the already crowded memorial center that is downtown.
And, frankly, I was appalled that Christopher hadn't lit up on that one on this very space. I think we all know, deep down, that we'll never have more memorials than D.C. We can try, though, and they will always have that "Nation's Capitol" status. But that shouldn't stop us.
I don’t mean to be disrespectful to the National Guard, but come one. Can’t we have one park downtown that doesn’t have a war memorial?

Appalled? Please forgive me. I had a post brewing but was still trying to get more info. I do agree with you...

Wars are what this country is about.
