Wait, wait, wait!!!!

I've got so much to say about this:

but I've currently had too many martinis to do so tonight. Suffice it to say I do all I can to keep up on art/architecture/design in this city and I totally missed this. According to the Indianapolis Business Journal, the Rotary Club of Indiana has chosen a new gateway to the city to commemorate their 100th Anniversary. Indy's own and oft way too soft spoken architecture critic says "... Would it be great if Santiago Calatrava, Rem Koolhass, or Zaha Hadid were invited to create a design?" Yes it would and I say WHY AREN'T YOU SHOUTING THIS FROM THE MOUNTAINTOP!!!!

I'm not yet saying it's a bad design and something not good for the community, I'm just saying hold on a minute and talk about this. Do we really want the Rotary Club to go alone in making a decision that could for decades be the gateway to Indy? You can bet your sweet ass there is more to come on this subject...

I think it's horrid, but fearfully read that one of the top five choices was a 120 foot "walking man". (shudder)

Maybe nuetral is better than totally hideous.
