Opie Installation

Suzanne Walking, corner of Washington and Meridian Streets

You may have noticed Julian Opie: Signs is currently being installed throughout downtown Indy. Scheduled to officially open next week, the installation started just a few days ago culminating almost a years worth of work by The Arts Council, Mindy Ross, Julian Opie and their many assistants. Six of the eleven installations are within two blocks of monument circle, two at White River State Park, and one each at iMOCA, the IMA and on Mass Ave. Maps will be available in the Arts Garden, White River State Park, iMOCA and the IMA and I believe will be posted online (will update when this happens). Expect more posts to come but for now, a few installation shots.

Related - Opie's interview with ArtInfo earlier this month regarding his show in Indianapolis as well as the challanges of large scale public installations.

These are great. I can't wait to go around and see them all once they are installed. Thanks for the pics Chris.
