Weekend Preview

Don't miss the shows associated with the Furniture Society conference that start tonight. See post here.

Saturday and Sunday:

sub-merging: a wetland project by spurse opens at the Indianapolis Museum of Art this weekend.

For several months, the art collective spurse has conducted an unconventional but thorough field study of the IMA, its grounds, and its visitors as one symbiotic ecosystem. With students and scientists as collaborators, spurse tracked ladybugs, germinated seeds used in African artifacts, and traced the movements of people, air, money, and art objects. In addition, spurse worked with local volunteers to create experimental gardens on the grounds of IMA's future Fairbanks Art and Nature Park.

On the weekend of June 10-11, spurse will install their work in public view from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Also on Saturday...

Independent Music + Art Festival at the Harrison Center
