Big Car Forum

For those of you out there that may not already know about it, Big Car gallery has a community forum available for discussions on art, writing, politics, and more. This is another great tool for your public expression. If you have an upcoming show you want to let people know about you can head on over and create a post on the Big Car Forum.

1ST OF ALL JIM THANKS FOR YOUR AMAZING ENERGY TO GET ALL THESE COOL THINGS DONE IN TOWN.2ND THE TIDE IS TURNING I THINK MORE PEOPLE ARE BUYING ART AND MORE PEOPLE ARE MOVING DOWNTOWN AND CHECKING OUT THE GALLERIES. ONE INTERESTING THING IS THAT NOW THERE IS A LOT ON 1ST FRIDAY AND NOT MUCH OPEN THE REST OF THE TIME.IF YOU WORK AT A GALLERY ITS HARD TO SEE THE OTHER SHOW. I WISH EVERYDAY INVENTORS WAS STILL OPEN. WHAT IF I WANT TO BUY ART LIKE YOU MENTIONED TODAY ON CHRISTMAS EVE. I WOULD BUY SOME TODAY IF I COULD.I HAVE TO ADMIT I BOUGHT KIPS BEST 2 PIECES BEFORE HE LEFT THE STUDIO. I DONT LIKE BUYING ART AT ROCK SHOWS I LIKE BUYING DRINKS AT ROCK SHOWS. WHAT IF SOMEONE BROUGHT THAT ART TO WHERE NORMAL PEOPLE WERE. PEOPLE LIKED THE ART MACHINE. SECRATARIES HEARD ABOUT MY STUDIO BECAUSE OF THAT ART THEY BOUGHT OUT OF THE MACHINE. MAYBE BIGCAR SHOULD DO THINGS LIKE THAT IN THE ARTS GARDEN OR SOME OTHER PLACE WHERE NORMAL PEOPLE THAT ARENT DRUNK YET GO.

Those are really good ideas...

I think it would be cool to have local art in a grocery store like that wild, new international market on the west side...

we're looking into that sort of thing...

remember, most galleries, including Big Car, have open hours on times on than First Fridays. Maybe those hours -- Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons -- aren't the best times for people. What are, I wonder?

Yes...if shopping for art was easier ( normal places, normal days and hours) more people might enjoy buying it! People are consumers, they like to shop and purchase stuff....but they are also somewhat lazy, and don't want to have to "work" to spend their money.
Buying art is too hard here. It is quite annoying to go out of my way to a distant art gallery, only to find it closed....in the middle of the day...in the middle of the week. I have kids at home and am tired on Friday nights.
